Abstract
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Setting in a story is more than just the place where the story takes place. Setting includes factors such as cultural background, economic and social environment. Setting affects factors such as language and the performance of characters. The beautiful work of fiction, Call Me Beautiful, by having a social structure, provides a suitable platform for discovering cultural foundations. The main subject of this research is to search for the means that the author has used to express the inner intentions of his words based on the concerns prevailing in the mind. In this article, we have tried to examine social foundations in terms of criticism and evaluation of cultural and moral foundations in the beautiful work, Call Me Beautiful.
METHODOLOGY: The present study is a theoretical study that uses a library research method and descriptive-analytical method and studies of books and theses to explain the cultural and social space-building effects of this work. The scope and society studied is the beautiful work "Call Me" by Farhad Hassanzadeh, which has been published by the Center for the Intellectual Development of Children and Adolescents.
FINDINGS: Compared to other works by Farhad Hassanzadeh, the beautiful work "Call Me" has shown social harms in the adolescent population and has beautifully depicted social and cultural themes such as poverty, loneliness, orphans, and divorce. The most important characteristic of this work is the use of folk prose and mysterious events in simple and fluent language.
CONCLUSION: This work has been studied and evaluated based on Lucien Goldman"s structuralism theory, and the results of the research indicate that this story, with its solid structure, based on a unique form and structure, has been able to express cultural and social relations and relationships by relying on special terms in the language of codes and allusions. The important achievement of this research is the expansion of the theoretical boundaries of structuralism to the field of space-based narratology in Persian children"s and adolescent literature; a trend that has been less studied from the perspective of Lucien Goldman"s literary sociology.
