The postmodernist movement in the twentieth century, as the last major intellectual movement in the West, cast doubt and pessimism on the values of the modern era. This intellectual movement inevitably penetrated the culture and art of other countries, and the postmodern novel, imitating Western fiction, became one of the currents of contemporary Iranian novel writing. The postmodern narrative has special characteristics that are the result of today"s chaotic and insecure world. One of the works that has the potential for postmodernist reading is the novel "This Dog Wants to Eat Roxana" by Qasem Kashkuli. METHODOLOGY: The present study is a theoretical study that has attempted to criticize and analyze the novel in question based on postmodernist components using a library research method and a descriptive-analytical method. The population studied is the novel This Dog Wants to Eat Roxana by Qasem Kashkuli, published by Butimar Publishing. FINDINGS: characteristic features of the postmodern style, such as uncertainty, the collapse of macro-narratives, temporal chaos, polyphonic carnival, short circuit, Gothic, lack of cause-and-effect relationships, paranoia, intertextuality, identity and unity of characters, collage, indefinite ending, and the dominance of the ontological element, have been used in the novel in question. CONCLUSION: The conclusion from the research results is that the characteristics of the postmodernist style, both structural and content, are clearly evident in the narrative type, and uncertainty and the dominance of the ontological element are the most important postmodernist elements of this novel.زمینه و هدف: تحولات عصر جدید پایه های تفکر بشری در مسائل سیاسی، اجتماعی و فرهنگی را دچار تغییراتی کرد. جریان پست‌‌‌‌مدرنیسم در قرن بیستم به عنوان آخرین جریان مهم فکری در غرب ارزشهای عصر مدرن را مورد شک و بدبینی قرار داد. این جریان فکری ناگزیر به فرهنگ و هنر دیگر کشورها نیز نفوذ یافت و رمان پست‌مدرنیسم به تقلید از داستان‌نویسی غرب به یکی از جریانهای رمان‌‌‌‌‌‌‌نویسی معاصر ایران تبدیل شد. روایت پسامدرن دارای ویژگیهای خاصی است که معلول دنیای آشفته و ناامن امروزی است. یکی از آثاری که قابلیت خوانش پسامدرنیستی دارد، رمان «این سگ میخواهد رکسانا را بخورد» اثر قاسم کشکولی است. روش پژوهش: پژوهش پیش رو، مطالعه ای نظری است که به شیوه پژوهش کتابخانه ای و به روش توصیفی- تحلیلی تلاش کرده است به نقد و تحلیل رمان مورد نظر براساس مؤلفه های پسامدرنیستی بپردازد. جامعه مورد مطالعه، رمان «این سگ میخواهد رکسانا را بخورد» از قاسم کشکولی بوده که توسط نشر بوتیمار منتشر شده است. یافته ها: یافته ها نشان میدهد که بسیاری از ویژگیهای شاخص سبک پسامدرنیسم مانند عدم قطعیت، فروپاشی روایتهای کلان، آشفتگی زمانی، کارناوال، چند صدایی، اتصال کوتاه، گوتیک، فقدان روابط علی و معلولی، پارانویا، بینامتنیت، همانی و اتحاد شخصیتها، کولاژ، فرجام نامعین و غلبه عنصر وجودشناسی در رمان مورد نظر بکار گرفته شده اند. نتیجه گیری: از نتایج تحقیق برمیآید که ویژگیهای سبک پسامدرنیستی اعم از ساختاری و محتوایی در نوع روایت کاملاً مشهود است و عدم قطعیت و غلبه عنصر وجود‌شناسی مهمترین عناصر پسامدرنیستی این رمان هستند.ادبیات داستانی, روایت پسامدرن, قاسم کشکولی, این سگ میخواهد رکسانا را بخورد.
