In this paper, the stylistics of Lamei Gorgani’s poetry was analyzed at the literary level in order to revisit and investigate the dominant literary characteristics in this poet’s poems. Whereas Persian poetry was gradually moving towards literary elegance and complexities in Lamei’s time, the literary characteristics of the “realist” and leisure-seeking era were still dominant. Henceforth, Lamei’s poetry must have been under the effect of the characteristics of the “realist” and leisure-seeking era. In order to answer this question, the literary characteristics in his poems were scrutinized. Identification of the literary characteristics of Lamei’s poetry is important for recognition of the dominant characteristics in the poetry of the transition period from the Khorasani stylistics to the Iraqi stylistics.
