Studying the stylistic and content influence of Saadi's Golestan and Wassaf's History on the book Darreh Nadereh (based on the preface)

Abstract

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Dorreh Nadereh, written by Mirza Mehdi Khan Astarabadi, is a book with elaborate prose and is devoted to the history of Afsharids. Despite the fact that this book is full of valuable and first-class information on the history of the Afsharids and is one of the main sources for obtaining information on the historical situation of the late Safavid period and even the early Zand period, However, Mirza Mehdi Khan"s imitation and adaptation in this work of literary and historical sources from previous periods, such as Kalilah and Dimnah, Sindbadnameh, Marzbannameh, Tarikh Wassaf, and Saadi"s Golestan, have caused the traces of the stylistic characteristics of these works to be directly or indirectly visible in this work. This article attempts to compare the preface of Darreh Nadereh with two valuable literary works, Tarikh Wassaf and Golestan Saadi, and to present and mention evidence of the stylistic similarities between these two works and Darreh Nadereh, and to explain their influence on Darreh Nadereh"s writing style.

METHODOLOGY: The present study is a theoretical study that is formed by descriptive-analytical method and review of library studies and document research. The scope and society of the study is the book Darreh Nadereh by Seyyed Jafar Shahidi, published by the Ministry of Culture and Higher Education, the history of the lithographic printing of Bombay and Golestan Saadi.

FINDINGS: An examination of the stylistic evidence of Darreh Nadereh shows that the author of this work does not consider it wrong to imitate, adapt, or utilize the aforementioned works. Rather, he considers this impressionability to be her literary pride, having taken works such as the History of Wassaf as her role model, and even considers her artistic display in front of these works to be impolite The author of this work has clearly decorated his prose with a seasoning of boring wordplay, not only by some words and expressions, but also by using common themes, the order and sequence of themes. The findings show that the author has used more of its themes than Saadi"s Golestan, but has paid attention to imitation and adaptation in all intellectual, literary and linguistic fields than Wasaf"s history.

CONCLUSION: Adaptation of sentences, combinations, and terms from the text of Tarikh Wasaf Imitating the themes of Tarikh Wasaf in the same order as stated in the preface Admitting to imitating Tarikh Wasaf along with humility towards it (Wasaf has exactly this same moral principle towards Ata Malek Juwayni), Imitating the literary devices of Golestan with similar words and expressions, especially in similes, allusions, similes, and ...Expressing the themes of Golestan with similar and broader wordsObserving the sequential course of the themes of Golestan from praising God to being convinced to write a bookIn general, the contribution of Tarikh Vasaf in influencing Darreh Nadereh is much greater
